Full description and specifications

Ferocactus macrodiscus is a species of cactus native to central Mexico. It is a small to medium-sized succulent plant, with a globular shape when mature, which can reach up to 40 cm in diameter.

Prominent ribs are arranged on the green surface of the body, from which strong thorns grow. The thorns are light gray or white, and some may have red tips. In general, there is only one long central spine, and the rest are radiated around it.

The flowers are pink or red in color, appear at the top and can reach up to 4 cm in diameter. These are followed by small, oblong, dark red fruits.

Ferocactus macrodiscus is a resistant plant, adapted to drought conditions. It prefers a well-drained soil and requires direct or semi-direct sun exposure. It is also tolerant to low temperatures, but must be protected from frost. It is a popular choice for cactus gardens due to its compact form and attractive flowers.
