Full description and specifications

Euphorbia decaryi is a small succulent plant, endemic to southeastern Madagascar. It has swollen roots and straight or creeping stems, ornamented with fleshy leaves arranged in rosettes at the ends of the stems.

The plant can reach a height of approx. 15 cm and extends through rhizomes. Under the influence of the strong sun, the green leaves acquire a beautiful shade of coppery bronze. The leaves are very wavy, folded and with prominent veins.

The unusual, bell-shaped flowers vary in color from yellow and yellow-green to reddish and appear during the summer.

The scientific name "decaryi" is attributed to it in honor of Raymond Decary (1891-1973), a well-known French botanist and ethnologist.
