Bulbophyllum phalaenopsis

Bulbophyllum phalaenopsis - a botanical species named not for the resemblance of the flowers, but for the similarity of the plant's leaves (to Phalaenopsis gigantea), this is a large epiphytic species native to New Guinea. It is found at altitudes below 500 meters and blooms on a short, basal, clustered spike with flowers grouped around the pseudobulbs.

It is a species that grows well in warm conditions and needs deep shade, good air circulation, and high humidity to develop properly.
