Bulbophyllum mastersianum is an epiphytic species from the Orchid family, genus Bulbophyllum, native to Southeast Asia, including areas of Malaysia and Indonesia. It features ovoid, single-leaf pseudobulbs, 2-4 cm long, densely arranged on a short rhizome. The leaf, lance-shaped and fleshy, measures 5-10 cm in length. The inflorescence is upright or hanging, bearing 1-3 waxy flowers, 1-2 cm in diameter, with yellow-green sepals and petals, sometimes spotted with purple. The labellum is small, movable, with a characteristic sweetish scent. It requires high humidity, diffused light, and temperatures of 22-30°C. Propagation is done by dividing the rhizome.

Other known names:

  • Cirrhopetalum mastersianum (historical synonym, used in older classifications).
  • Bulbophyllum mastersii (alternative name in some taxonomic sources).
