Full description and specifications

Thelocactus nidulans is an attractive cactus native to the arid regions of Mexico. It is appreciated for its decorative appearance, with globular stems, interesting thorns and spectacular flowers. It is suitable for cacti collectors, but also for lovers of resistant succulent plants.

Care:

Light: It needs direct and strong light, being perfect for a bright place, such as a south-facing window. The lack of light can lead to the elongation of the plant and the loss of its natural shape.

Watering: Water moderately during the growing season (spring and summer), letting the soil dry completely between waterings.

In winter, watering should be reduced almost completely, because the plant goes into rest.

Soil: Use a well-drained mixture, specific for cacti, consisting of sandy soil, perlite and a little compost.

Provide excellent drainage to prevent water accumulation.

Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 20-30°C, but tolerates lower temperatures, up to 5°C, if the soil is dry.

Avoid exposure to frost or temperatures below 0°C.

Fertilization: During the active period, apply a cactus fertilizer once a month.

There is no need for fertilization during winter dormancy.

Transplantation: Transplant the plant once every 2-3 years, in the spring, using a pot with good drainage. Handle the plant carefully to avoid stings.

Height with pots included approx. 10 cm

The plant is sold without flowers. The decorative bowl is not included in the price.
