Paphiopedilum rothschildianum - a rare, striking botanical species, notable both for the size of the plant and the size of its flowers.

The flowering stems reach a height of 80 cm and bear 2-6 large flowers (25-45 cm), which are fragrant.

Paphiopedilum rothschildianum is among the rarest orchids in the world, as it naturally grows only in the northern part of the Borneo islands, on one side of Mount Kinabalu - a rather limited area. In the past, the price of a plant reached 5-6000 dollars, which is why it was popularly called "Gold of Kinabalu". Over time, the price has decreased, especially after mass propagation was achieved through tissue culture.

Common names: Kinabalu Gold, Rothschild's slipper
Flower size: 25-45 cm

Fragrant flowers: YES

Note: some specimens show leaves with defects
