Portulacaria afra 'Medio-picta' (Midstripe Rainbow Bush) is native to South Africa. Purslane plants serve as food for elephants and other wild animals in their native habitat. They have brown-reddish stems with glossy green leaves.
Placement: it needs strong light and can tolerate direct sun, but it must be acclimatized gradually.
Watering: Watering largely depends on the climate in which you live. These plants are very adapted to drought conditions, but thrive when they are provided with sufficient water.
