Philodendron Silver Sword (Hastatum)

Philodendron Silver Sword (Philodendron hastatum) belongs to the Araceae family, within the Philodendron genus which includes nearly 500 species. Philodendrons come from the tropical forests of Brazil and Paraguay. They are usually large and impressive plants. The name Philodendron comes from the Greek word "phileo" meaning "to love" and "dendron" meaning "tree".

Placement: Philodendron prefers a bright spot, sheltered from direct sunlight. However, it will also tolerate a shadier area. The foliage will become greener if placed in a more shaded location.
Watering: The soil should be neither too wet nor too dry. Water regularly, allowing the soil to partially dry out between waterings. Make sure the pot has good drainage.
Soil: Philodendron prefers nutrient-rich soil that retains moisture well.
