Full description and specifications
Paphiopedilum Black Jack orchid is the perfect choice for those who prefer warm and dark colors. It is an extraordinarily spectacular Paphiopedilum, the red/purple color and shape make it a collector's orchid.
The well-known Paphiopedilum "Black Jack" is actually a variety of Paphiopedilum maudiae, in turn a first-generation hybrid obtained from the crossing of the species Paphiopedilum callosum (seeds) and Paphiopedilum lawrenceanum (pollen). This aspect indicates care requirements for Black Jack similar to those for the rest of the Maudiae horticultural varieties, such as vinicolor, femma, or Black Jack pelorice.
Paphiopedilum Black Jack, together with the other varieties of maudiae, is an orchid recommended for beginners, as its culture is relatively close to that of representatives of the Saintpaulia genus (African or Parma violets), popular among horticulture enthusiasts. There are frequent cases in which Black Jack can present double flowers at the same time, reminiscent of Paphiopedilum species with sequential flowering.
