€3,95
Notocactus magnificus, also known as Parodia magnificus, is an impressive globular cactus, valued for its blue-green color, symmetrical ribs, and delicate yellow spines, which give it an elegant and harmonious appearance. It originates from South America, especially Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay, where it grows in semi-arid and rocky areas, adapting to drought and strong light conditions.
This cactus is relatively easy to care for, making it perfect for succulent collectors and lovers of ornamental plants. When mature, it can form clusters of rounded stems, creating a striking effect in cactus gardens or decorative pots.
Care instructions
Being a hardy cactus, Notocactus magnificus requires strong light and moderate watering, making it ideal for apartments and dry gardens:
🌿 Light: Preferably intense direct light. At least 6 hours of sun per day is recommended for healthy growth.
🌡️ Temperature: It tolerates temperatures between 5-35°C, but must be protected from frost (below 5°C). In the cold season, it is advised to keep it in a dry and cool place.
💧 Watering: Moderate to low! Water once every 2-3 weeks in summer and once every 4-6 weeks in winter, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings.
🌱 Soil: A well-drained mix for cacti and succulents, rich in sand and gravel, to prevent excessive water retention.
🌿 Fertilizing: Apply a fertilizer for cacti (NPK 5-10-10) once every 2 months during the growing season (spring-summer).
🪴 Repotting: Recommended every 3-4 years, to renew the soil and allow root development.
Height with pot included approx. 8 cm
The plant is sold without flowers.
