Lobivia winteriana is a small- to medium-sized cactus, valued for its spectacular, colorful flowers, which appear during the warm season. It belongs to the genus Lobivia, which includes several cactus species native to South America.

• Size: It grows to approximately 10–15 cm in height and 8–12 cm in diameter

• Shape: The stem is globular or slightly cylindrical, dark green, with well-defined ribs and areoles covered with short spines.

• Flowers: It produces large, spectacular flowers that appear in spring and summer. The flowers are tubular and can reach up to 10 cm in diameter.

• Growth: It grows slowly and is suitable for both succulent gardens and growing in pots.

Care:

• Light: It prefers direct sunlight or bright indirect light. It can tolerate partial shade, but flowering will be reduced.

• Soil: It requires a well-drained substrate consisting of cactus soil and sand.

• Watering: Water moderately during the warm season, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. In winter, watering should be reduced or stopped completely to prevent root rot.

• Temperature: It tolerates temperatures down to 5°C, but must be protected from frost. In cold climates, it is recommended to keep it indoors during winter.

• Propagation: It is propagated by seeds or basal offshoots, which can be separated and replanted.
