Hoya archboldiana 'White' is the white-to-cream-flowered selection of the New Guinea species, published in 1937 by C. Norman and named after explorer Richard Archbold. The foliage is large, glossy, and oblong. Young leaves may be reddish, then turn dark green. The flowers are large, cup-shaped, and fragrant. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions. The large white flowers are a true spectacle.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are thick, glossy, oblong-lanceolate, with pointed tips. Under good growing conditions, they can reach approximately 20 cm in length and 7 cm in width. New leaves may emerge reddish-brown, then turn green. In bright but filtered light, the foliage may develop additional shades. The growth habit is that of a vine: the shoots may climb or hang. Shoot length varies from one specimen to another.

Flowers and fragrance. The flowers are cup-shaped, with reflexed lobes, approximately 5 cm in diameter. The corolla is white, cream, or pale yellow. The corona ranges from pink to deep red. The shade may vary slightly from one flowering to another. The flowers are fragrant, especially in the evening. They last for several days. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.

Identity. The accepted botanical name is Hoya archboldiana C.Norman, published in 1937. The species is native to New Guinea, including the Aru Islands. 'White' is the selection with light-colored flowers. It is not a variegated form.
