Catasetum saccatum is an interesting orchid that grows in tropical mountain forests in countries such as Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil.
It blooms mainly in the winter or spring season. The flowers are strongly fragrant and can reach sizes of up to 10 cm. They are known for an unusual feature: they can shoot pollen up to 2.5 meters away from the plant.
