Philodendron 'Ring of Fire' - variegated form, considered extremely rare. The leaves display impressive variegation.
The plant was initially named 'Henderson's Pride' after the breeder Keith Henderson (Asiatica nursery).
Although the breeder did not reveal details about the plant's parents, it is assumed to be a cross between Philodendron Tortum (polypodioides) and Philodendron Wendlandii.
This variety has nectar-producing glands on the back of the leaves. The nectar serves to attract ants searching for food – thus, the plant gains chemical substances secreted by them, and also benefits from the aggressive way ant colonies defend their territory and food source, protecting the philodendron from other harmful insects.
Delicate foliage – stock specimens may have leaves with defects/scars.
Note: The level of variegation varies from one plant to another, but all specimens show specific variegation. Plants will be chosen at random.
Height including pot approx. 25 cm
Decorative pot is not included in the price.
