Hoya ranauensis is a climbing plant from the Apocynaceae family, native to the Ranau district, located in eastern Sabah, Borneo. Initially discovered under the name Hoya sp. Poring Hot Springs, a name used in trade for two decades, this species was officially published by Dale Kloppenburg and Ted Green. It is a vigorous plant, easy to grow, with oval, glossy leaves of a deep green, and small, fragrant flowers that appear in clusters. The flowers have a delicate shade, often pale pinkish-white, and are frequently produced once the plant matures.
It is considered an ideal choice for beginners, especially for those who want to try a type of Hoya similar to Finlaysonii. The plant prefers a warm, humid environment, with well-drained soil and exposure to indirect light. Due to its fast growth rate, it is perfect for growing in hanging pots or on supports.
Fragrant flowers: Yes
