Echinopsis eyriesii, also known as evening cactus or lantern cactus, is a species of round cactus, native to South America (Argentina, Uruguay), valued both for its symmetrical shape and abundant side shoots and for its spectacular blooming, with large, fragrant flowers that open mainly in the evening and last only 1–2 days.
It is an easy-to-care-for plant, ideal for cactus collections, sunny windowsills, rock gardens, or terrace planters, being hardy and suitable both for beginners and enthusiasts.

• Full scientific name: Echinopsis eyriesii
• Family: Cactaceae
• Shape: round or slightly cylindrical, dark green, with pronounced ribs
• Spines: short, thin, pale yellowish-white, arranged radially
