Thrixspermum hystrix (miniature)
Thrixspermum hystrix is an epiphytic orchid from the Orchidaceae family, native to Southeast Asia, including the Andaman Islands, Nicobar, Thailand, Laos, Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and the Philippines. It grows in humid tropical forests at low to medium altitudes. It has short or elongated stems, flat, fleshy leaves arranged in two rows, and pendulous or curved inflorescences.
The fragrant flowers are small (about 1 cm), yellow or cream-colored, sometimes white, with a delicate, spider-like appearance, and bloom throughout the year, with a higher frequency in spring. The plant prefers medium light, high humidity, and a well-drained substrate, making it suitable for mounting on supports or hanging pots.
