Phalaenopsis gigantea * fragrant
The orchid Phalaenopsis gigantea is a botanical species native to Borneo, where it is considered rare and threatened with extinction, but is the subject of reintroduction programs in the environment, based on culture specimens. Large epiphytic species, prefers a warm to very warm climate. In nature, the leaves reach 56-91 cm in length. It can bloom at any time of the year, but more frequently in late summer and early autumn. The stems are long, abundant in large flowers, strongly perfumed, with a sweet aroma, star-shaped and sweet aroma. If the stems are not removed after flowering, successive reblooms may occur on them, for several consecutive seasons.
