Hoya verticillata 'Nganjuk Splash' is a collector's cultivar, distinguished by its firm leaves, well-defined veins, and variable silver patterning. “Nganjuk Splash” identifies the horticultural material and the appearance of the foliage. The silver areas are splash markings. Each leaf may develop its own pattern distribution against the dark green background. The foliage and flowers make it a suitable choice for apartments. Each leaf has its own unique pattern.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are thick, waxy, elliptic to ovate, with a clearly visible network of veins. The splash markings can range from fine speckles to larger silver areas, and their intensity is not identical on every leaf. The plant has a climbing habit and produces long vines, suitable for training on a support or growing as a trailing plant.

Flowers and fragrance. It produces umbels of waxy, creamy white flowers with centers ranging from pink to purplish red. The flowers are fragrant; the intensity and character of the fragrance vary depending on the selection, the age of the flowers, and growing conditions. Bud formation depends on the maturity of the plant.

Botanical identity and origin. The accepted botanical name is Hoya verticillata (Vahl) G.Don. It is an epiphytic species with a very broad range, extending from the Indian subcontinent and southern China to Indochina and western and central Malesia. The commercial name “Nganjuk Splash” refers to the foliage selection; it has not been confirmed as a formally registered cultivar.

Substrate: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
