Hoya skinneriana, also sold as Hoya 'Dee's Big One', is a label retained in the title. The foliage is thick, glossy, elliptical, green, and without splash. It has a vining habit, with trailing shoots. Under good growing conditions, it produces dense, pink-purple, fluffy umbels with a cream corona and burgundy center. The flowers are fragrant. Flowering depends on the plant’s maturity and growing conditions. The pink-cream umbels are sure to attract attention.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are elliptical, thick, glossy, and uniformly dark green. The midrib is visible, but the leaf blade has no splash and no variegation. The shoots are flexible and can be left to trail or trained onto a support. The product photo shows a young specimen, not a vine several meters long. The decorative pot shown in the image is not included in the price.

Flowers and fragrance. The gallery shows a dense, spherical umbel with pubescent, star-shaped flowers. The corolla is pink-purple, the corona is cream, and the center is burgundy. Cultivation sources describe an umbel larger than that of common Hoya carnosa and a lighter shade than that of Hoya pubicalyx. The flowers are fragrant; we do not assign a single specific note. Flowering depends on the plant’s maturity and growing conditions.

Identity. The title retains Hoya skinneriana and the commercial name 'Dee's Big One'. Published in 2011 in cultivation material, it is a synonym of the accepted species Hoya carnosa (L.f.) R.Br. We do not rename the product. 'Dee's Big One' is not a taxon. The material circulated in collections under both labels, sometimes disputed even by the growers who propagated it.

Substrate: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
