Clematide a fiori grandi - Clematis 'Star of India' (Gruppo tardivo a fiori grandi)
€6,95
Clematis 'Star of India' - a variety with large flowers that bloom in the second half of summer. These wonderful reddish-violet flowers feature a pink stripe in the center, which turns into a dark bluish-violet as the flower matures. It is an excellent companion for climbing garden roses. The flowers have an average size of about 10 cm.
Classification: Late Large-flowered Group
Growing recommendations:
This type of clematis prefers good quality soil, rich in nutrients, moist but well-drained. It is recommended to improve the soil with manure or compost at planting time, if possible. When growing in drier soils that tend to dry out quickly, cover the base with a layer of shredded bark (or another type of mulch) to retain soil moisture.
Clematis generally prefer a growing space with good sun exposure.
It is not necessary to remove the wilted flowers of these clematis, but if they seem to have finished blooming earlier than expected, a light pruning can encourage new growth and a secondary bloom late in the fall.
During the cold season, the plants appear as leafless, seemingly dry stems – this is perfectly normal and the plants are fully viable.
Height including pot: approx. 40 cm
