Cereus forbesii is a columnar cactus native to South America, valued in cactus collections for its upright and elegant shape. The cylindrical stems, greenish-blue, are ribbed with deep ridges and have areoles from which short, yellow-brown spines emerge. Over time, the plant may branch from the base, forming impressive colonies. When mature, it produces large, white, night-blooming flowers, followed by red, fleshy fruits, sometimes edible.
