Pachypodium lamerei, also known as the Madagascar palm, is a spectacular succulent plant native to the island of Madagascar, appreciated for its tall, cylindrical stem covered with spines and its crown of long, green leaves arranged at the top. Although it resembles a palm, it is related to plants in the Apocynaceae family and behaves like a succulent, storing water in its stem.
