Sedum spathulifolium 'Cape Blanco' is a compact and decorative variety of succulent plant, native to western North America, valued for its unique silvery foliage and adaptability to difficult conditions. It is ideal for rockeries, green roofs, borders or pots.

Family: Crassulaceae

Type of plant: Succulent perennial, with a tart habit

Height: 5–10 cm

Width: 20–30 cm (spreads forming a dense carpet)

Leaves: Short, rounded, fleshy, silver-gray in color with a whitish tint given by a natural wax (pruina)

Flowers: Yellow, star-shaped, grouped in small inflorescences, appear in summer (June–July)

Light: Full sun (it also tolerates partial shade, but the leaf color is more intense in the sun)

Soil: Poor, sandy, well-drained; ideal in slightly alkaline soils

Watering: Reduced – extremely drought-resistant plant; water infrequently, only when the soil is completely dry

Cold resistance: Very good – withstands low temperatures, down to -20°C.

Propagation: It propagates easily by division or by leaves/cuttings , being a plant that quickly forms dense colonies.
