Primula acaulis with double flowers is one of the most beautiful seasonal primroses: compact rosettes of deep green leaves and abundant flowers with multiple petals, which look almost like tiny roses. It is the ideal choice for decorative pots, window boxes, entrances, balconies, or as a seasonal gift, as it instantly brings color where other plants are just waking up.

🌱 Botanical characteristics

• Botanical name: Primula acaulis (double-flowered forms)

• Common names: primrose, spring flower, garden primrose

• Blooming: very early, in waves, with double flowers (a “full”, rich look)

• Leaves: in a rosette, slightly wrinkled/textured, fresh green

• Use: bright and cool indoors (temporarily) or outdoors in the cold season/early spring

💧 Growing and care conditions

• Light: plenty of light, but without strong direct sun (especially indoors). Outdoors it does very well in filtered light or gentle sun.

• Temperature (optimal range): 5–15°C. In warm rooms blooming shortens, and the plant tires more quickly.

• Watering: moderate and regular. Keep the soil lightly moist, but not soaked. Avoid water remaining in the saucer and avoid watering in the center of the rosette (reduces the risk of rot).

• Soil: loose, well-draining but retains some moisture. A good mix is one for flowers/green plants with added perlite.

• Maintenance: remove spent flowers to encourage reblooming and keep a tidy appearance.
