Polaskia chichipe is a columnar cactus native to the arid regions of Mexico, valued for its architectural form, vigorous growth, and edible fruits. In its natural habitat, it can form true succulent trees with numerous stems branching from the base, offering a spectacular and sculptural appearance.

The cylindrical, blue-green stems have well-defined ribs and short spines, and mature specimens produce white-cream, nocturnal flowers, followed by small, sweet fruits locally known as chichipe, consumed for centuries by populations in Mexico.

🌿 Botanical characteristics:

  • Produces fragrant white-cream flowers that open at night
