Full description and specifications
Philodendron is included in the list of plants recognized for its air purifying qualities and, in addition, it does not require special care. The 1989 NASA study identified philodendron among the best plants for removing formaldehyde and improving air quality.
Philodendron care instructions:
Location: Philodendron prefers a bright area, away from direct sunlight. However, it will also tolerate a darker area. The foliage will become greener if it is placed in a shadier area.
Watering: The soil must be neither too wet nor too dry. Water regularly, allowing the soil to partially dry between waterings. Make sure the pot has good drainage.
Soil: Philodendron prefers a nutrient-rich soil that retains moisture well.
This variety has nectar-producing glands on the back of the leaves. The nectar has the role of attracting ants in search of food - thus, the plant gains a supply of chemical substances secreted by them, but also takes advantage of the aggressive way in which the ant colonies defend their territory and food source, protecting the philodendron from other harmful insects .
Some specimens show a slight variegation, on some leaves (mottled variegation).
Height with pots included approx. 40 cm
