Phalaenopsis Chingruey's Goldstaff 'Fortune' - fragrant
Phalaenopsis Chingruey's Goldstaff Orchid - a complex hybrid, branded Ching Ruey Orch., registered with the Royal Horticultural Society in 2000, stands out for its compact habit, a feature that also makes it suitable for limited spaces, and its easy growing conditions, which pose no difficulties even for beginners, cared for similarly to common Phalaenopsis hybrids (see here the care instructions for Phalaenopsis orchids).
The parents of this hybrid are Phalaenopsis ambonosa (amboinensis x venosa) as the seed parent, and Taisuco Jewel as the pollen parent. The full parental formula includes Phal. equestris 27.82%, Phal. amboinensis 26.17%, Phal. venosa 25.0%, Phal. amabilis 6.55%, Phal. amabilis subsp. amabilis 5.77%, Phal. Aphrodite 2.77%, Phal. This grex has 4 awarded clones, namely Dtps. Chingruey's Goldstaff 'C' (2011), Dtps. Chingruey's Goldstaff 'Fuller' (2008), Dtps. Chingruey's Goldstaff 'Little Sweet Heart' (2006), Dtps. Chingruey's Goldstaff 'F.L.' (2005).
Some specimens, or in the case of certain hybrids all specimens, may have terminal spikes. The terminal spike does not represent a quality issue and no distinction is made between specimens with or without terminal spikes, the plants being in both cases compliant with international horticultural standards. More details about terminal spikes can be found here: Phalaenopsis terminal spike.
