Full description and specifications

Peperomia clusiifolia 'Red Margin' , also known as Peperomia Red Edge, is a popular houseplant, appreciated for its decorative leaves with red edges. It is an easy plant to maintain, which makes it ideal for beginners or for those who want to add an element of greenery to the house without much effort.

Care:

  1. Light: Peperomia 'Red Margin' prefers indirect light. It can tolerate low light, but direct exposure to intense sunlight can cause burns on the leaves. It is ideal to be placed near an eastern or western window.
  2. Soil: Prefer a well-drained, aerated soil, ideal for houseplants or succulents. A mixture of peat, perlite and potting soil is suitable.
  3. Watering: Watering must be moderate. The soil must partially dry between waterings to prevent root rot. In winter, watering should be reduced.
  4. Humidity: Peperomia clusiifolia 'Red Margin' tolerates dry air well, but prefers a moderate level of humidity. Occasional foliar spraying can be beneficial.
  5. Temperature: The plant develops best at temperatures between 18-24°C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 10°C.
  6. Fertilization: Fertilize the plant once every 2-4 weeks during the growth period (spring and summer) with a diluted liquid fertilizer for houseplants. During autumn and winter, reduce fertilization.
  7. Propagation: It is easily propagated by stem cuttings or leaves. The cuttings can be planted directly in the soil or placed in water until they develop roots.
  8. Common problems: It is resistant to most pests, but can occasionally be affected by aphids or mites. Excessive watering can lead to root rot, so make sure the soil is well drained.
