Paeonia Suffruticosa, popularly called the shrubby garden peony, is an atypical peony of Asian origin. There are Japanese and Chinese cultivars.

Unlike the classic peony, Paeonia Suffruticosa grows (slowly) as a woody shrub that reaches a height of 2-3 m.

Location: Sunny or partially sunny location. Areas protected from strong winds or extreme temperatures are preferable.
