Paeonia itoh 'Bartzella' - félig cserjés sárga bazsarózsa dupla virágokkal
Paeonia Itoh, or Itoh hybrids, are a special group of intergeneric peonies resulting from the cross between Paeonia lactiflora, a herbaceous peony species, and Paeonia suffruticosa, a tree peony species. These hybrids are named after the Japanese horticulturist Toichi Itoh, who achieved the first successful cross of this type in the 1940s.
The Itoh hybrids combine the best traits of both parent species. They inherit the lush foliage, compact habit, and large, full flowers from the herbaceous peonies, and the disease resistance, longevity, and wide color range from the tree peonies. The flowers can come in various colors, including yellow, pink, red, orange, and shades of cream, sometimes with multiple colors in the same flower.
Itoh hybrids are valued because they have an exceptionally long blooming period that can last from late spring to autumn and can produce multiple flowers on a single stem compared to their parent types. The stems are sturdy and can support the large flowers without bending. After blooming, the plants maintain an attractive appearance thanks to their green and healthy foliage, which remains decorative until winter arrives.
