Full description and specifications

Neoporteria napina is a species of cactus native to Chile. It is part of the Cactaceae family. Also known as 'Eriosyce napina' after a recent reorganization of the taxonomy, this species of cactus is known for its globular and fleshy forms.

Neoporteria napina grows slowly, having a diameter of approximately 6-15 cm. The plant has a greenish-gray or greenish-brown color. It has many sharp thorns that come out of prominent tubers. The flowers appear in the spring and are generally yellow in color, but can vary towards red or orange.

Like most cacti, Neoporteria napina is adapted to drought conditions and needs a lot of sun. Well-drained soil is essential to prevent root rot. This plant is also cold-resistant, but does not tolerate frost.
