Mammillaria matudae is a collectible Mexican cactus, prized for its elegant cylindrical shape, covered with dense areoles and fine, white to grayish-white spines. As it matures, the plant becomes more elongated and may produce side shoots, eventually forming decorative clusters.

Flowering is one of its main attractions: the flowers usually appear near the tip, arranged in a circle, in shades of pink to magenta-pink, contrasting beautifully with the green epidermis and light-colored spines.

🌱 Secret Garden substrate recommendation

👉 For optimal growth, we recommend Secret Garden Cactus, Succulent & Adenium Substrate, an airy, well-draining mix suitable for plants sensitive to excess water. Its structure promotes rapid water drainage and maintains good root aeration.

For specimens grown in more humid conditions or in large pots, the mix can be supplemented with pumice, volcanic lava, or other mineral components for even faster drainage.

📌 Note

The plant’s shape, spine density, and flower color intensity may naturally vary from one specimen to another.

The stem may have small scars, dry patches, or signs of growth, especially on mature specimens. As long as these areas are firm and dry, they are mainly cosmetic and do not normally affect the plant’s viability.

Height including pot: approx. 10 cm

The plant is sold without flowers.
