Lemongrass - Cymbopogon citratus

Cymbopogon citratus or Lemongrass - aromatic plant with great medicinal and culinary value. When the leaves are broken/crushed, a strong citrus scent emanates.

In Asian cuisines (and not only) it is used as a spice and flavoring. All over the world it is used for medicinal purposes in the form of essential oil, tea or powder. In the cosmetics industry, it is used due to its aroma in perfumes, creams, etc., but also in aromatherapy.

Applying lemongrass oil (sometimes in combination with other essential oils) is one of the most effective natural methods of protection against mosquitoes. Lemongrass oil is also considered a good antiseptic.
