Citromfű - Cymbopogon citratus

Cymbopogon citratus or Lemongrass - an aromatic plant with high medicinal and culinary value. When the leaves are crushed or broken, they release a strong citrus fragrance.

In Asian kitchens (and beyond), it is used as a spice and flavoring. Worldwide, it is used for medicinal purposes in the form of essential oil, tea, or powder. In the cosmetics industry, it is used for its scent in perfumes, creams, etc., as well as in aromatherapy.

Applying lemongrass oil (sometimes combined with other essential oils) is one of the most effective natural methods of mosquito protection. Lemongrass oil is also considered a good antiseptic.
