Full description and specifications

Kalanchoe eriophylla is a perennial succulent plant native to Madagascar, appreciated for its leaves covered with fine hairs, which give it a velvety appearance. The name "eriophylla" comes from the Greek and means "woolly leaves", which perfectly describes the fluffy texture of its leaves.

This plant remains relatively compact, growing to approximately 10-15 cm in height and width.

Kalanchoe eriophylla produces small, tubular, pink or white flowers that appear in clusters at the ends of the stems. The flowers usually appear in spring or early summer and are delicate, adding a nice contrast to the fluffy leaves.

Care:

Light: Kalanchoe eriophylla prefers indirect but strong light. It can tolerate the direct sun in the morning hours, but it must be protected from the intense midday sun, which can cause burns on the delicate leaves.

Soil: The plant requires a well-drained soil, specific for succulents. A mix of cactus soil, combined with perlite or coarse sand, is ideal to ensure efficient drainage.

Watering: Watering must be moderate. Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings to prevent root rot. In winter, significantly reduce watering, because the plant enters a period of rest.

Temperature: Prefers moderate temperatures, between 18-24°C. The plant does not tolerate intense cold and must be protected from frost, being ideal for growing indoors or in protected places during the winter.

Fertilization: Fertilize the plant once every 4-6 weeks during the period of active growth (spring and summer) with a fertilizer for succulents, diluted according to the instructions.

Height with pots included approx. 12 cm
