Hoya globulosa is the accepted species; Hoya villosa is a synonym, not an accepted name. It is an epiphytic or lithophytic vine with pubescent foliage, prominent veins, and nearly spherical umbels. The flowers are cream or straw-colored, with a pink or reddish corona at the base, and are fragrant. The title retains the synonym label, but the botanical identity remains Hoya globulosa. The vines can be trained onto a support or left to trail.

Foliage and growth. The foliage is oblong or elliptic, leathery, with a thick midrib and visible lateral veins. The surface may be more or less hairy; the pubescence sometimes disappears from older leaves. The color is green, with darker veins. The growth habit is that of a climbing vine, not a compact shrub.

Flowers and fragrance. The umbels are globular, with many flowers. The corolla is described as straw-colored or cream; the corona has a pink, pinkish-brown, or reddish base. The flowers are fragrant. The shade, umbel density, and fragrance intensity may vary between specimens.

Substrate: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
