Full description and specifications

Hoya fungii is a tropical plant originating in Asia, also known as "wax flower". It is appreciated for its large, thick and glossy leaves and for its fragrant, star-shaped flowers.

The plant has a vine-like growth, with stems that can stretch up to several meters in length. In conditions of adequate light, the stems produce air roots that help the plant to cling to the supports and grow vertically.

The leaves are dark green, elliptical or heart-shaped, with a glossy surface. Their size can reach 10-15 cm in length.

The flowers appear in spherical bouquets, known as umbels. Each flower has five petals, white or cream in color, with a red or yellow center. The flowers are known for their sweet fragrance, which becomes stronger in the evening.

Caring for Hoya fungi involves exposure to bright light, but not to strong midday sun. The plant prefers high humidity, but needs well-drained soil to prevent root rot. Watering is done when the soil is dry to the touch.

Popular name: Tear of Our Lady, Wax or Porcelain Flower.

Note: Specimens in stock may have leaves/lianas that may be sunken or damaged.
