Heliconia psittacorum is one of the most popular types of Heliconia, probably because it is easy to care for. It is also popular because its flowers resemble the Strelitzia - Bird of Paradise.
It blooms abundantly throughout the year. Indoors, it should be placed in the warmest and brightest spot possible.
Heliconias prefer soil that is constantly moist, not allowed to dry out completely.
