Encyclia tampensis var. alba - endemic botanical species from Florida and the Bahamas, at altitudes between sea level and 25 meters, as a small to medium-sized epiphyte, which grows in conditions of intense heat. It has narrow, elliptical to ovoid pseudobulbs, covered by dry sheaths, and bears 2 apical leaves, straight or slightly twisted and recurved. It blooms towards the end of spring, having an apical inflorescence, with scattered or smooth excrescences, longer than the leaves, reaching up to 75 cm, which usually bears a large number of flowers. The floral bracts are short, close to the pedicel, and the flowers are strongly scented, having a sweet smell of honey.
