Drosera Capensis 'Red' (Sky Dew)
Drosera, also known as Roa Cerului, is a fascinating insectivorous plant, also present in Romania, in protected areas.
Drosera capensis uses a "flypaper" grasping mechanism to capture insects. When an insect reaches the leaves of the plant, it is trapped by the adhesive liquid. The leaves are then wrapped around the insect, which is later digested to provide essential nutrients to the plant.
Care:
- Light: It needs a lot of light, preferably direct sunlight.
- Water: Prefer distilled water or rainwater and moist soil.
- Soil: Acid soil, poor in nutrients.
Height with pots included: 15 cm
IMPORTANT: Insectivorous / carnivorous plants do not pose any kind of danger to humans. Their digestive juice is at most a good hand sanitizer!
Note: The tentacles of this plant are sensitive and may show defects/damage due to variations in temperature and humidity.
