Cyrtanthus spiralis

Cyrtanthus spiralis, also known as the Fire Lily, is a bulbous plant native to South Africa. It is valued for its spectacular flowers, red or orange, which have a unique spiral shape.

Care:

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. The ideal placement is near a window where it receives filtered sunlight, avoiding direct exposure that can burn the leaves.
• Water: Watering should be done moderately, waiting for the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings. Sensitivity to overwatering requires good drainage to prevent bulb rot.
• Soil: A well-draining mix is essential, ideally one meant for bulbous plants or cacti, which promotes drainage and prevents water stagnation.
• Temperature and Humidity: Prefers warm and moderate temperatures, between 18°C and 25°C, with moderate humidity. It should be protected from low temperatures and frost.
• Fertilizer: Feeding can be done during the active growth period with a balanced fertilizer, diluted to half the recommended strength, once a month.
