Curcuma longa, known commonly as Turmeric or Curcuma, is a perennial plant from the Zingiberaceae family, the same family as ginger. Native to southern Asia, especially India, turmeric is both a plant of culinary and medicinal value.
Frost resistance: the root (rhizome) can withstand down to -10°C - when grown outdoors, it is recommended to apply a layer of mulch for protection during the cold season.
Height: varies depending on the season - from potted rhizomes to plants with foliage of 40-50 cm
