Full description and specifications

Caladium 'Chinook' is an impressive variety of caladium, known for its spectacular leaves that add color to any space. It is part of the Araceae family and is native to the tropical areas of South America.

Caladium 'Rosebud' has large, heart-shaped or arrow-shaped leaves, which can reach considerable sizes.

Care

  1. Light : Caladium prefers bright places, but away from direct sunlight. Too much light can burn the leaves, while the lack of light causes the vibrant colors to fade.

  2. Watering : This plant requires a constantly moist soil, but not overwatered. Watering must be adjusted according to the ambient temperature and humidity, increasing the frequency during the summer and reducing it during the winter.

  3. Temperature and humidity : Caladium thrives in conditions of high humidity and temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius. Avoid exposure to cold air currents or temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius.

  4. Fertilizer : Fertilize the plant once a month during the period of active growth (spring-summer) with a water-soluble, balanced fertilizer.

  5. Soil : Choose a soil rich in organic matter, with good drainage.

Caladium is a very sensitive plant to transport (especially temperature changes). Therefore, it is possible to receive these plants with significant defects on the leaves, but these do not affect the viability of the plant. Under conditions of optimal care, the new leaves will develop normally.
