Begonia masoniana ‘River’, also known as Begonia Iron Cross ‘River’, is a spectacular variety of begonia, appreciated for its unique, textured leaves with a distinctive cross-shaped pattern.

Origin: Tropical regions of Asia (China, Vietnam)

Appearance: Perennial plant, with compact growth and large, decorative leaves.

Leaves: Oval, asymmetrical, with a rough texture and a dark cross-shaped pattern on a light green background. The leaf surface is slightly velvety and covered with fine hairs.

Flowers: Small, white-pink in color, appear rarely and are not as spectacular as the leaves.

Care conditions:

Light: Prefers strong indirect light but also tolerates partial shade. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves.

Water: Water moderately, keeping the soil slightly moist but without excess water. Avoid watering directly on the leaves.

Humidity: Requires high humidity; it is recommended to place it near a humidifier or on a tray with gravel and water.

Temperature: 18-25°C; does not tolerate temperatures below 12°C.

Soil: Well-drained, rich in organic matter, peat-based with perlite.
