Pachypodium saundersii (Pachypodium lealii ssp. saundersii) is a succulent plant native to South Africa and Swaziland, also known as the "Little baobab" due to its resemblance to the baobab, though on a much smaller scale. This plant belongs to the Apocynaceae family and is known for its striking caudex, which can store water to survive in dry conditions.
The trunk has a globular or cylindrical shape and is covered with thorns. The leaves are long, narrow, and grow at the tips of the branches. Pachypodium saundersii produces white or pink trumpet-shaped flowers, which usually appear in autumn or early winter.
This plant is very hardy and can survive harsh conditions, but it requires plenty of light and well-drained soil.
