Hoya wayetii 'Variegata' is the true variegated selection of the species Hoya wayetii, an epiphytic vine native to the Philippines. The lot consists of a full pot with several already established vines. The foliage is narrow, fleshy, and boat-shaped. The central area may be cream, yellow, or pink, while the margins remain green and can turn burgundy in bright light. Under good growing conditions, compact umbels of fuzzy, fragrant, burgundy-red flowers appear. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.

Foliage and growth. The foliage is elongated, thick, and slightly concave. The variegation appears across the leaf blade rather than as silvery spots. The center may be cream, yellow, or pink, while the margins remain green. The color distribution varies from one leaf to another and from one vine to another. In bright light, the margins become darker or develop a burgundy tint, while the shoots may turn reddish. The variegated areas are more sensitive. Keep specimens in good light, protected from direct sunlight.

Flowers and fragrance. The flowers are small, star-shaped, fuzzy, and grouped in compact umbels. The petals range from dark red to burgundy, while the corona may be red or have yellow accents. They are fragrant; in cultivation, the scent is described as sweet and honey-like. The flowers last for several days, depending on the microclimate. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.

Identity. The accepted botanical name is Hoya wayetii Kloppenb., published in 1993, native to northern Luzon. 'Variegata' is the label for the variegated form. It is also known as "cactus hoya" because of its fleshy foliage, not as a watering guideline.

The ceramic pot is not included in the price.

Substrate: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
