Hoya scortechinii 'Pink' is the label for the UT-001 collection material, also sold as Hoya sp. Sumatra. UT-001 is a collection number, not a species. The foliage is lanceolate and green, with an overspray-type silver splash, not variegation. In bright light, the veins and blades may turn reddish. The flowers in this batch are pink-cream, with golden highlights and a yellow-burgundy corona. They are described as subtly fragrant. The growth habit is vining. The horticultural provenance is Way Kambas Park in Sumatra.

Flowers and fragrance. The umbel is globular. The corolla is glossy pink-cream, with golden highlights; the corona is pale yellow, with a burgundy center. The color may intensify as the flower opens. Horticultural sources note that the flowers are subtly fragrant; perceived intensity varies. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.

Identity. The title retains Hoya scortechinii 'Pink' and Hoya sp. UT-001. Hoya scortechinii King & Gamble, published in 1908, is an accepted species, an epiphyte native from Thailand through western Malesia (Borneo, Malaya, Sumatra). UT-001 is not a taxon and does not make this batch a separate species. The same clone circulates as Hoya sp. Sumatra, Hoya sp. aff. scortechinii, or scortechinii 'Pink'; other clones are also sold simply as scortechinii. Way Kambas is the origin of the horticultural material, not the species' entire range.
