Rhynchonopsis Kasorn's Viola Coequestris is an intergeneric hybrid in the nothogenus Rhynchonopsis (family Orchidaceae), registered in 2011 by M. Chanyangam (Phalaenopsis equestris × Rhynchostylis coelestis).
Botanical characteristics:
- Flowers: Small, approximately 2-3 cm. Lavender-blue, with a darker lip. Some clones are peloric (the petals resemble the lip). Fragrance inherited from Rhynchostylis coelestis.
- Habit: Compact plant, with leaves intermediate between Phalaenopsis and Rhynchostylis, sometimes twisted. Intermediate to warm-growing.
- Distinctive features: Rare primary hybrid, valued for its lavender-blue color. Coerulea forms (both parents coerulea) are even more sought after. Cultivated like a Phalaenopsis, or slightly warmer.
