Paphiopedilum maudiae 'Black Jack'

Paphiopedilum Black Jack Orchid is the perfect choice for those who prefer warm, dark colors. This exceptionally spectacular Paphiopedilum, with its red-purple color and distinctive shape, is a collector’s orchid.
The well-known Paphiopedilum “Black Jack” is actually a variety of Paphiopedilum maudiae, which is itself a first-generation hybrid obtained by crossing the species Paphiopedilum callosum (seed parent) and Paphiopedilum lawrenceanum (pollen parent). This means that Black Jack has care requirements similar to those of other horticultural Maudiae varieties, such as vinicolor, femma, or Black Jack peloric forms.
Paphiopedilum Black Jack, along with the other Maudiae varieties, is an orchid recommended for beginners, as its cultivation is relatively similar to that of plants in the Saintpaulia genus (African violets, or Parma violets), which are popular among gardening enthusiasts. It is common for Black Jack to produce double flowers simultaneously, reminiscent of sequentially flowering Paphiopedilum species.
