Aspidistra elatior (Pana cocosului)

Aspidistra elatior fully deserves the popular name "Iron Plant". It is extremely hardy and has a wonderful ability to grow with minimal care. Due to the fact that it also faces pollution, it also received a popular name: "Bar-Room Plant".

With attractive and opulent leaves, aspidistra elatior is the only subspecies grown as an indoor plant.

From spring to autumn, Aspidistra can also be placed in a protected place in the garden, on the terrace or on the balcony, but it must be moved indoors before the first frost.

Aspidistra elatior prefers an aerated substrate that offers medium water retention. Watering should be moderate, when the substrate is almost completely dry. The quality of the soil will essentially contribute to a healthy and strong growth of the plant.
